Amanda Peet is the younger of two sisters, and her perents divorced in 1990. She majored in history at Columbia University, right in the heart of New York. And it was there, at the University, that a drama professor encouraged her to audition for Uta Hagen, an acting teacher. Amanda spent 4 years under the dramatic training of Uta Hagen after she graduated University in 1994. And in the meantime, she gained experience by performing in the play, Awake & Sing. That same year, she could also be seen in an episode of Law & Order.
Amanda accepted whichever acting gigs she was offered and she was finally cast in an episode of NYPD Blue. She Worked at "City Crab" in New York before hitting it big. In 1995 Amanda Peet recieved her film debut in Animal's Room. In 1997, Amanda appeared in Seinfeld's The Summer of George episode, as well as the sitcom Spin City. Though she would eventually be voted one of the year's 50 most beautiful people in a 2000 issue of People magazine, Amanda Peet has a down-to-earth nature. According to interviews with intimates, she's the type of girl who unapologetically eats all the Cheez Doodles, then lets out a gigantic burp.
Amanda Peet married writer/producer David Benioff on September 30, 2006. On February 20, 2007, Amanda Peet gave birth to a daughter, Frances Pen. Amanda can be seen in the movies Fast Track (2006) and Martian Child (2007). |
