Jennifer Lopez Great Singer began performing in musicals, including in a European tour of Golden Musicals of Broadway, local productions of Oklahoma and Jesus Christ Superstar. There after she got a role in Money Train, opposit Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes. In 1997, Gregory Nava asked Jennifer to audition for his biopic on the slain Tejano singer, Selena. She got the role, which made her a star. That same year, her boyfriend, model Ojani Noa, proposed to Jennifer at the wrap party for Selena. Their marriage lasted less than year.
In 1997, Jennifer Lopez starred in the films U Turn, Anaconda and Blood and Wine. And in 1998, she played U.S. Marshall Karen Sisco in Out of Sight, co-starring George Clooney. Her next she lent her voice to an animated ant in the DreamWorks feature Antz. After the leading role in the film The Cell (2000), Jennifer returned to the music scene with the album, J.Lo, in February 2001. The album claimed the No. 1 spot on the charts with the first single, Love Don't Cost A Thing. Jennifer Lopez married dancer Cris Judd on September 29, 2001. Jennifer Lopez received a Latin Grammy nomination and won the Billboard Latin Award for a duet, "No Me Ames", she did with Marc Anthony. In 2000, she also won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Dance Video, "Waiting For Tonight".
In 2002, Jennifer and actor Ben Affleck began dating. The couple met on the set of the movie Gigli. The film received unanimous negative reviews. After a highly-publicized romance, the couple ended their engagement in February 2004.
