Jessica Simpson was elected Homecoming Queen two years in a row at J.J. Pierce High School. Her father manages her singing career, and her mother designs Jessicas wardrobe. Jessica began her career at the age of 12, as a member of her church choir. She also auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club, but with out success. The following year Jessica attended a religious camp. She sang an acappella version of Amazing Grace for one of the camp's guest speakers, who was launching a new gospel music label, and Jessica signed a contract. Three years later she took the material she had worked on and began to hit the Christian Youth Conference circuit. News of the teenage Jessica Simpson Great Singer with the amazing voice soon began to filter out of the religious world and into the pop music realm. In the late 90's, Jessica signed with Columbia Records. Her debut Album, Sweet Kisses, was released in 1999. The album spawned the smash singles I Wanna Love You Forever, I Think I'm In Love, and Where You Are.
Jessica Simpson married Nick Lachey, frontman of the boyband 98 Degrees, on October 26, 2002 in Austin, Texas. She can be seen in the TV sitcom That 70's Show, and in an episode of UPN's The Twilight Zone. Jessica and Nick also starred in the MTV reality series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. Her blonde hair was voted the best in a 2005 People magazine poll. She has recorded a duet with country singer Willie Nelson which was featured on the soundtrack to the upcoming movie The Dukes of Hazzard (2005). Jessica also appeared in the movie as Daisy Dukes. Jessica Simpson was no. 9 on Maxim Magazine "Hot 100" for 2005. In November 23, 2005, Jessica and Nick made an official statement that they are seperating after 3 years of marrage. The dicision was mutual.
